Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Cancellation Policy

1.1 Consultation Services (Virtual & In-Person)

• Notice Period: Clients may cancel or reschedule their pre-booked consultation appointments by providing at least 24 hours' notice prior to the scheduled appointment time.
• Procedure: To cancel or reschedule, clients must contact our office via phone or email, providing their full name and appointment details.

1.2 Formal Legal Services & Representation

• Notice of Termination: Clients retain the right to terminate their legal engagement with DBL Legal Solutions LLP at any time by providing formal written notice (via email or physical letter) subject of clearance of earlier dues, if any.
• Outstanding Dues: Upon cancellation, the client remains legally obligated to clear any pending invoices for professional services already rendered up to the date of cancellation, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses (disbursements) incurred on their behalf, as detailed in the Engagement Letter or Vakalatnama.

2. Refund Policy

2.1 Consultation Services

• Timely Cancellations: A 100% full refund will be initiated for consultation appointments cancelled with at least 24 hours' advance notice.
• Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, or failure to attend the consultation (no-shows), will forfeit the consultation fee. DBL Legal Solutions LLP reserves the right to retain the fee to compensate for the reserved time.

2.2 Formal Legal Services

• Unused Retainers: Refunds for ongoing legal representation are strictly assessed on a case-by-case basis. If a client terminates the engagement, they are eligible for a refund of any unused portion of their advance retainer fee.
• Deductions: The refund will be calculated after deducting:
  • Professional fees for billable hours or specific milestones already completed.
  • Statutory expenses already paid (e.g., Court fees, Stamp Duty, Registration charges).
  • Third-party professional fees already disbursed or committed (e.g., Senior Advocates, Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, or Notaries).
• Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed and credited to the original source of payment within 10 to 14 business days from the date the final statement of accounts is settled and agreed upon.

3. Exceptions and Unforeseen Circumstances

3.1 Medical or Personal Emergencies

We understand that severe emergencies arise. If you must cancel a consultation at the last minute due to a verifiable medical or personal emergency, please contact our office as soon as possible. We will review such instances on a case-by-case basis and may waive the late-cancellation fee or offer a complimentary reschedule.

3.2 Firm-Initiated Cancellations

If DBL Legal Solutions LLP must cancel a scheduled consultation due to unavoidable court appearances, urgent legal matters, or unforeseen unavailability of the designated Advocate, the client will be offered the choice of a priority rescheduled appointment or a full 100% refund.
